PR Tip: "No Thanks" is OK

When a reporter says, “No thanks,” understand what you just got. You got interest. That reporter gets 100 email an hour. They ignore 90 percent of them. You made it through and you now have an open line of communication. Don’t re-pitch. Don’t ask them why they’re passing. Don’t tell them they don’t understand. Instead, play the longtail. Understand that you’ve got a foot in the door and an email address that won’t be instantly ignored the next time.
